Frequently Asked Questions

How long will my fabric take to arrive?

We schedule production runs of our fabrics. We announce open to buy to our stores with specific order close dates. From the buying close dates eight to twelve weeks is our lead time to receive goods in our warehouse. Processing time to ship generally is one to two weeks. We’re proud to keep our lead times considerably shorter than industry convention while still giving each collection the time it needs to be made beautifully and to our premium quality standards.

Do you keep fabric in stock?

We schedule regular production runs, which means fabric is pre-ordered ahead of production. We will keep a limited stock of some of our most popular patterns and fabrics. Our commitment is to keep inventory moving quickly and introducing new collections several times throughout the year and communicate to you when we have open to buy so that you can pre-order to stock and re-stock.

Where do you ship from?

We manage the whole process from design to delivery from our atelier in historic downtown Littleton just outside Denver, Colorado, which means there are fewer layers between the person ordering the fabric and the people actually getting it made and shipped to you.

Do you use a Distributor?

We are our own designer, fabricator and distributor. Your order comes directly to us, rather than traveling through a long chain of distributors and warehouses before it reaches you. We love working closely with our stores and we hope you can feel our enthusiasm!

Can I see a sample before I order?

We’re working on keeping mini charm packs available as a small way to get your hands on the fabric, see the colors in person, and generally have a little fabric moment before committing to yardage. Send us a message and we can mail one to you for a small shipping & handling fee. You can also visit us at h+h every spring and fall!

Is shipping free?

No—we believe in transparency rather than hiding the frieght somewhere in the price of your fabric. Shipping is charged separately based on your order and destination.

What happens inside the atelier while I wait for my fabric?

Quite a lot, actually. Much of our time is spent as a small team as August designs and heads up developing new patterns, products and systems. There are mood boards, mock ups, colors being reconsidered, orders being processed, samples being admired, and at least one person wondering where they put the scissors...again. And we love our in person atelier zoom calls with our circle of stores. Our atelier is downtown in historic Littleton, close to Denver Colorado, where we enjoy pop in customers when the doors are open.

So while your fabric is making its way through the world, know that there are real people here keeping an eye on it. Pull up a chair. We’re glad you’re here!

Do you ship internationally?

Yes! We can ship August Ellery fabric internationally. Shipping costs vary by destination and are calculated separately from your fabric order. If you're outside the U.S. and have a question about getting fabric to you, just send us a note. We’ll work with you to ensure the best way to get our collections to you!

Behind the Curtain at the Atelier

"I am passionate about creating unique brand identities that resonate with audiences. The atelier is where we craft creative and compelling stories through our beautiful brand worlds and designs."

Rumor has it that she doesn’t exist. But she does.

Somewhere between a sketchbook and a storybook lives the artist August Ellery — designer, dreamer, and collector of beautiful things.

With a love of painterly patterns, unruly florals, and a Jane Austin matchmaking wit that takes patterns from charming to cheeky in the flick of a paintbrush.

She imagines, draws and designs textiles, paper & print, artist's materials and gifts, meant to be stacked, stitched, and savored.

Each collection is a chapter in her ongoing tale...
