Cancellation Policy

Our fabric is produced in scheduled print runs, and your preorder helps us determine exactly how much cloth to make. When you place an order with August Ellery, we are relying on that commitment when we send our production quantities to our printing house.

We know that plans change. Bolt orders may be cancelled before the stated pre-order cutoff date without a cancellation fee. Once the cutoff pre-order date has passed, your order has been submitted for production and bolt cancellations are subject to a 20% cancellation fee.

Our cutoff dates are there for a reason: the day after the cutoff, we send our final quantities to production. At that point, we have committed to producing your fabric and are counting on your order to help us avoid making inventory that has not been ordered, shipped, or paid for.

Precuts—including, but not limited to, Fat Quarters, Patchwork Pinwheels, and Charm Packs—are non-cancellable once ordered. These items are produced and prepared specifically according to preorder quantities and cannot be returned to production inventory in the same way as full bolts.

If you need to make a change to an order, please reach out to us as soon as possible and before the applicable cutoff date. We will always do our best to help when we can.

We are a small company, and every preorder matters. Your thoughtful ordering helps us continue making beautiful fabric, keeping our production close, and delivering the quality we care deeply about.

Refund Policy

August Ellery fabric is produced specifically for our wholesale customers through scheduled production runs. Because of this, our wholesale orders are not eligible for return simply because a store has changed its mind or no longer needs the fabric.

Bolts that have been approved for cancellation after the order cutoff are eligible for a refund less a 20% cancellation fee.

Precuts—including, but not limited to, Fat Quarters, Patchwork Pinwheels, and Charm Packs—are non-refundable once ordered.

If your order arrives with a manufacturing defect, damage, or an issue that affects the usability or quality of the fabric, please contact us within 5 business days of delivery, with photographs and your order information. We will review the issue and work with you on an appropriate resolution.

Approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method. Shipping and freight charges are non-refundable unless the issue was caused by an error on our part.

We take great care with every order that leaves our atelier. If something isn't right, please tell us. We are a small team, and we genuinely want to make it right when we can.
